Remember my exciting Friday night last week? This is what I wore!
Looks like a standard outfit, dress..tights..sweater..

But upon further twirlier inspection, there’s a bit of extra awesome in this look:

I have a severe love for brightly colored tights and it isn’t the easiest to find a way to rock Barney-esque purple ones. I love throwing these on with neutrals like black and brown so it isn’t an overwhelming amount of color but instead, just a little something extra.
Sweater: Gap / Dress: Urban Outfitters / Tights: Target
Knee socks: Target / Necklace: Satya
What’s your favorite way to throw a pop of color into your look? More importantly: how the heck would you get this sweater to not bunch up like it’s desperate for attention? That zipper was not photo friendly. Ah, well, can’t get your clothes to always behave :)
LIVE beautiFULLY, friends. xx
I Don’t Need Anything But You.
I know it’s winter and all but I can’t seem to tear myself away from bright colors. While (internet) window shopping over at ModCloth, I spotted these three beauties that would definitely work as winter wardrobe additions:
Heart of the Chatter Dress is killing me with cuteness. Look at those stunning gold buttons down the back! The sweet heart pockets! The high neckline giving you the ability to be all good girl with just a touch of sass. Sigh. True love. Sadly, it’s just a touch out of my price range but I’ll be keeping an eye on this baby for future sales.
Too Much Fun Dress in Blossoms makes me literally want to twirl. This would be easily “winter-ed” up with a navy blue cardigan, a skinny belt & your favorite brown or tan heeled boots.
Feelin’ Refreshed Dress reminds me of something I had in my closet as a child. I can’t recall exactly what it was but I have a vivid memory of something just like it! Other than making me nostalgic, it makes me want to dance! If you’re not the outgoing type, you could toss on some neutral items like a black sweater, black pumps and sheer stockings. If you’re a wild child, find an orange heel and a turquoise pashmina and have at it.
What say you, friends? Would you wear ‘em? Is there something else on ModCloth that you’re currently drooling over? Do tell! xx
Bye, Bye, Birdie.
Hello, darlings.
True story: I am in love with this t-shirt by the amazing Loyalty & Blood.
Based out of Brooklyn, this company rocks my socks and to prove it, I own a couple of their shirts and one of their necklaces. I’ve got my eye on their totes for future gift giving (toss in your pal’s favorite candy, magazine & lip gloss and you are good to go) and am always excited to spot them at the Brooklyn Flea or another handmade event.

This week, I wore this outfit half of one day and half of another (yeah, that’s right, twice in the same week) and styled it differently both times.
When I threw it on to get my hair cut at the fabulous Wonderland Beauty Parlor, I tossed on a casual off-white cardigan and some grey over-the-knee knitted socks.
On Sunday, I paired it with an oversized blue sweater (just a shade lighter than the tee) and a light purple, braided belt cinched around my waist.
You, lucky readers, are getting the base version look of both.

I normally never use any pictures that are out of focus but this shot is so me that I couldn’t resist. I even give my camera ‘tude ;)

Shirt: Loyalty & Blood / Skirt: H&M / Necklace: Satya / Boots: Steve Madden
Do you ever dare to wear the same look twice in one week? I rarely do it but find myself using the same pieces - a belt, certain tights, a cardigan, etc - more than once quite often. No shame in rocking what you love!

Only A Child Laughing In The Sun.
Know what I haven’t done in forever? An outfit post! I rocked this look to a theatre audition & while putting myself on tape (filming an audition) for producers in LA (that makes me sound fancier than I am but honest, that’s what I did on this day in these clothes).

See that right there to the left of me? That’s what we call true love.

Just so we’re clear: I am a total dork & often times crack myself up/almost fall from sliding on my floors/wind up with awesome out takes from these shoots :) Embrace your inner dork, it’s super fun!

Looks like I finally got myself to keep it together.. and that I’m about to burst out laughing again in 3..2.. ;)
What do you LOVE to wear? What gives you the giggles?
Tank: Express / Skirt: Urban Outfitters / Necklace: Satya

Baby, It’s Cold Outside.
Recently, I found myself in Times Square with a bit of time to kill. Times Square, while exciting to most, can be a touch draining on the people that live here. Needing to get away from the bright lights/lollygagging tourists, I did what any sensible gal would do: ducked into the closest store to shop! In this case, I ended up in the GAP.

I picked up a few t-shirts for layering and by the time all the discounts had been applied, I believe these babies boiled down to a whopping $9. Girl can get a deal.

I do not care for Winter. I care for Winter not. But oh-so-warm sweaters? True love.

Speaking of warm, these are called “cozy socks” & have little furry friends adorning them. GAP, someone over there knows what she’s doing when it comes to marketing/packaging/use of furry animal friends.
I’m not going to lie, I was never a big fan of the GAP. Ever. But after this impromptu encounter & the fact that I had to actually stop myself from buying so many other items, I’d say that we’ve become fast friends and are on the way to a long lasting relationship.
How about you: Have you purchased anything extra cozy for the upcoming season? Have you found yourself shopping somewhere you never expected? xx
